At 224 attendees, this was the largest attendance the Union have had to our annual lunch. This was almost exclusively made up of OCs and parents of OCs. It was also the first Union function where there was an element of music, the piano being played by James Lee (Poetry) while people gathered in the reception area. The guest speaker was Rory Best OBE, interviewed by Adrian O Farrell (OC 1984), and the function served as an appropriate appetiser to the Ireland v The All Blacks match in the Aviva Stadium that evening.
In addition over €9,000 was raised for the Clongowes Union Benevolent Association (CUBA).
Thanks as always to Jim Stitt (OC '72) for the wonderful moments captured on camera.
