CWC Union Golf

Clongowes Union Golf

Willie McDonald (Hon Sec) and Padraig Whelan (Hon Treasurer) have recently taken over the organisation of the Clongowes Golf Society.

Please see below details of our Captain’s (John Corr) Day at the wonderful County Louth Golf Club in Baltray on Saturday September 3rd. We have 36 slots

A few points of order:

1. As many of you will undoubtedly have noticed, our two previous outings were fully booked which is a real sign of the vibrancy of our society. We have
36 slots (with some scope for negotiation) as it stands so please don’t delay your booking if you want to guarantee your slot. Tee times start at 10.30, last one is at 12 noon.

2. What helped that process hugely was the use of our stripe links and a pay online policy. We no longer accept cheque or cash payments and naturally those in early will get preferential tee times.

3. Also we will continue to encourage young Clongownians to play with the Society by offering discounts based on ‘time left’ school to make the outings more affordable for the youngsters. Please see the categories and separate links for each below.

4. Cost (which we think is very reasonable given the quality of the course and historic meals at Baltray) includes green fee and the Captain’s dinner which will start shortly after the last tee time gets in. We encourage you all to stay for what is normally an entertaining prize giving of some wonderful shiny cups!

Costs and links;

For OC’s who have left the school in 2012 or earlier, the cost (for golf and dinner) is €150 per head.

OC’s who left between 2013 and 2019 inclusive, the cost is €130 per head.

OC’s who left in 2020-2022, the cost is €110 per head.

Please select the correct category. It’ll make life significantly easier re tracking etc.

Kind Regards and thanks to you all for your continued support. It’s an invaluable part of the past pupils experience.

Really looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on September 3rd.
