Clongowes Union Lunch 2022

5 Sep 2022

Dear Clongownian,

I am delighted to give you details of our 2022 Clongowes Union Lunch which will take place in The Alex Hotel in the centre of Dublin on 7th October at 12.30pm.

The lunch will be followed by a Panel Discussion chaired by former RTE journalist Sean O’Rourke who has been an important figure in the Irish media for many years. The panel comprises four interesting figures from different areas of Irish life. Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Declan Ryan makes a relatively rare appearance in a public forum and he is joined by the former senior member of the Northern Irish judiciary Sir Donnell Deeny, a young man called Jack Kavanagh who has displayed extraordinary resilience and flair in the wake of challenges few of us could imagine and Johnny Murtagh now a successful trainer after being a jockey at the top of his profession for decades while battling demons of his own. Sean plans to have a brief chat with the 4 panelists about their own lives before inviting them to comment upon some of the opportunities and challenges facing Ireland as we begin the second quarter of this Millenium.

I’m looking forward to the conversation which I expect will be entertaining and enlightening.

Payment links can be found at the bottom of this mail – the lunch is priced at € 85 for most of us and € 65 for those aged thirty or under.

Just a reminder that the Union lunch is an opportunity for you to invite guests from outside Clongowes to attend a Union function.

We would be very grateful for your support at this Event which has become a popular and enduring feature in the Clongowes Union Calendar.

Yours faithfully,

Tom Lane
