As you are aware, the Union has supported the Peter McVerry Trust (PMVT) with the development of a Youth Cafe situated in the heart of Dublin city, on Berkeley St, Dublin 1.
The aim of the Peter McVerry Trust / Clongowes Youth Cafe is to provide a space for clients of the Trust to relax and engage, in a safe and warm environment. The Cafe will be open 6 days a week and will be staffed by qualified PMVT personnel, however there is also considerable demand for evening access to this type of facility.
In order to provide evening access to the Youth Cafe, the Union is looking for volunteers to work alongside the Trust staff one evening per week (Wednesday) . Induction classes will be offered for volunteers on Wednesday 23rd & 30th of September from 7pm for c.60/90 minutes. All volunteers are required to attend both sessions where the mission and aims of the Trust will be covered together with the specific services to be provided at the Clongowes Youth Cafe.
If you are interested in supporting this great facility please contact Conor Daly (OC’85) at email@example.com or via Linkedin – your help with this project would be greatly appreciated.
