Rehabilitation

Jack Kavanagh Trust

In August 2012, Jack Kavanagh (OC ’11) dived into an oncoming wave. In that moment his life changed – he broke his neck. He is now paralysed from the chest down with only limited movement in his arms and wrists.

The school and the Union are supporting a major fundraising effort designed to secure for Jack the means to live as normal a life as possible. Jack demonstrated great determination in school and in everything he did – characteristics that have been crucial to his fightback from this life-changing injury. He is now back in TCD and has commenced second year Pharmacy with the support of a huge number of people and agencies.
